The Best Gift I Ever Got

Was my wife, Mary Elizabeth.
I don’t tell her that enough. Seems only appropriate to do that on Christmas.
To honor her, I wrote a little song.
Play The Best Gift I Ever Got (5mb .mp3).
If you’re curious to see the lyrics you can view this .pdf (73kb).
Enjoy.
PS Apologies to those who are tired of love songs. The thing is, authentic love is worth writing about.
Now you’ve gone and made me cry. What a lovely son. Happy Christmas!
Sorry, that would be “song” not “son”, although you do have a lovely son.
Hello Charlotte (no, this is not for you, John ;-),
You don’t know me but your son does and I took your first posting to mean that *John* is a lovely son. I certainly don’t know him as a son but I do know that he is a wonderful person and I am very grateful that I met him and had the opportunity to work with him while in Boston.
Now THIS is for you, John,
Thanks for the friendship that has survived my move back to Germany. Let us definitely stay in touch!
All the best for you, ME, and your kids (whom I haven’t met yet). I wish you a happy and most of all healthy 2007!
Cheers, mb
BTW, the song is wonderful, too!
Hi, it’s me again …
It only occurred to me after I had sent off my posting that I completely misinterpreted the “son/song thing” … all of a sudden it dawned on me that you, Charlotte, are not John’s Mum. I sent John an e-mail but he thought this was too funny (BTW, I agree) and decided to keep the comment …
Oh well, so much for making a fool of yourself (sort of “in public”) right at the beginning of the new year
Cheers, mb
